New Committee Members
I’d like to welcome two new members of the committee who come to us from the OREA Board of Directors. Welcome to Past-President Barb Sukkau and Western Ontario Provincial Director Anna Vozza. We are happy to have them on board!
Upcoming Events
This past week the OREA YPN met to discuss the plans for events across Ontario. The goal of the YPN is to host an event in each of the six Ontario Areas in 2012.
We will be starting with an event on April 16 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, 123 King Street West, Hamilton. Whether you are young in age, young at heart or new to the business this event is for you!
There will be round table discussions about various topics such as Working by Referral, Leadership, Volunteerism, the Future of Real Estate and more. There will also be a cocktails and appetizers and a time to network with other REALTORS®. RSVP to this event on our facebook event page.
The next event will be held on May 8 at Casino Rama in Orillia from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.. The evening will be set up to reflect the same as the Hamilton event.
Each event will feature similar discussion topics, but other topics will be geared to the specific area we are visiting.
We will be visiting the other regions in the fall – dates will be announced as soon as they are determined. Follow us on facebook for the most up to date information.
No matter where you work throughout the Province we encourage you to join us at any of these events! The more the merrier!
Thinking of starting a local YPN Chapter?
Since the launch of the OREA YPN we have been approached by a few Real Estate Boards who are considering starting their own local chapter.
The OREA YPN Committee would love to help you with this venture. Please do not hesitate to send an email to ypn@orea.com if you are interested in more information on how to start a local chapter.
Want to volunteer with the OREA YPN?
One of the biggest questions we received after our big launch event in March was “how can I get involved?”
It is great to see so many YPNers interested in volunteering their time to make the OREA YPN a success. There are a few ways to get involved now.
1. Write a guest blog for the YPN section of the OREA Blog telling us why you think YPN is important or your success stories from OREA YPN. Or if you have a topic that you would love to write about we would love to hear about it. If you are interested in blogging on the OREA YPN blog, please send us an email at ypn@orea.com.
2. Send us an email with your contact information along with the Real Estate Board that you belong to and we will add you to a “volunteer” list. When our events come your way we may be looking for help with setting up events, looking for guest speakers etc..
3. Post a testimonial about why you love the YPN on our facebook page.
