Good leadership is about resisting the notion that you know best simply because you’ve got the biggest office or paycheck, according to Jane Perdue of Braithwaite Innovation Group. In her article, Lead with an Open Mind, she says, “Don’t be so quick to conclude that those who hold a differing opinion are wrong or misguided or need converting to your point of view.” It’s better to keep an open mind and judge other people’s suggestions on their merits. “A leader’s role is to synthesize ideas, not strangle them,” Perdue writes.
