Volunteering is the act of offering oneself for some service or undertaking, without pay. As a volunteer on an OREA committee, you will contribute to the real estate profession. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate and network with colleagues and grow your professional network. Lend us your skills and experience, and perhaps you’ll learn something new.
OREA has several committees in need of volunteers, including the Education Committee, Finance/Audit Committee, Government Relations Committee, and the Marketing/Communication Committee. The application process allows you to select 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices. Select the committee that interests you. Depending on the committee, there are usually 2-3 meetings each year, and sometimes small “homework assignments” throughout the year. For example, members of the Marketing/Communication Committee may be asked for feedback on various items such as the REALTOR® Edge newsletter. The Governance Review Committee and the Legal Resource Committee may meet as many as 6-7 times throughout the year.
