Voters in Thornhill and Niagara Falls are heading to the polls today to elect their new MPPs. The two seats were left vacant late last year when Peter Shurman, PC MPP for the Progressive Conservatives, and Kim Craitor, Liberal MPP for Niagara Falls stepped down.
The byelection results will not tip the balance of power in the legislature. However, with the threat of a spring election looming over Premier Wynne’s minority government, the results will likely serve as a litmus test for all parties in determining whether or not Ontario should call a provincial general election.
Polls in both ridings close tonight at 9:00pm. If you live in Thornhill or Niagara Falls and would like more information please visit www.wemakevotingeasy.ca.
