Today is National Real Estate Day, a time for Canadians to celebrate the benefits of home ownership for families and communities.
The focus is on achieving the Canadian dream of owning a home, and how REALTORS® can help them to do that. “On behalf of Ontario’s 70,000 REALTORS® who are members of OREA, we are happy to participate in and support National Real Estate Day,” says Ettore Cardarelli, president of OREA. “As real estate professionals, we see every day the excitement, enthusiasm and achievement that purchasing a home brings to families, and we want to make sure that dream stays alive for everyone. We want to encourage and protect that, and we’re delighted to celebrate and support National Real Estate Day.”
To commemorate the day, Cardarelli appears in a video along with Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) president Larry Cerqua, who is also a member of OREA’s board of directors.
“We know how hard Canadians work to achieve the dream of home ownership, and as REALTORS® we’re privileged to be a part of the process that helps guide them to reach that dream,” says Cerqua. “Nothing is more rewarding than to watch a young family or a first-time buyer get the keys to their new home! It’s an achievement, and one of the largest financial investments you’ll make.”
National Real Estate Day was created by TREB to promote the positive impact of home ownership. Studies have shown that owning a home can improve your children’s educational outlook, improve your family’s health through higher levels of physical activity and lower levels of psychological distress, and increase levels of civic involvement and charitable support in your community.
The Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) and OREA encourage Ontarians to find out more about home ownership and its advantages. Owning a home not only provides shelter but can also help build a solid financial future and a return on investment in years ahead.
