The Learning Resources Network (LERN) has awarded the 2015 LERN International Award for Excellence in Programming to OREA Real Estate College for the College’s unique application of blended learning and flipped classrooms. The award is bestowed on a program deemed to be creative, innovative, and exemplary.

The world’s largest association in continuing education and lifelong learning, LERN has been monitoring the efforts of the College’s Executive Director, Ozzie Logozzo, a LERN Association council member and leader, and curriculum staff who are piloting the College’s blended learning model by the end of this year. This program will be the first of its kind in real estate education.

Blended, hybrid, learning engages participants as no other teaching methodology. Studies have shown that students learn more in blended courses than they do in either traditional classrooms or totally online courses.

LERN serves a wide variety of institutions, including state universities, private colleges, community colleges, technical colleges, public schools, recreation departments, and associations.

Ozzie Logozzo will be accepting the award on behalf of the Ontario Real Estate Association at the LERN Annual Conference, in Orlando, Florida, on November 22, 2014.
