As I begin my 2012 presidency term, along for the ride with me are the following dedicated individuals, who on Febuary 29th 2012 were inducted as the Ontario Real Estate Association’s new Board of Directors. Together we will help shape the future of OREA and the real estate industry.
BARBARA SUKKAU – Immediate Past President
Active in the real estate profession for 17 years, Ms. Sukkau is a sales representative with Royal LePage Niagara Real Estate Centre, Brokerage. During her term as president, Ms. Sukkau served as an Ex Officio member of various committees and task forces at OREA and was involved in many different initiatives and projects of the organization.
PHIL DORNER – President-Elect
Active in the real estate profession for 31 years, Mr. Dorner is broker of record with Louis Parent Realty, Brokerage. He is a member and past president of the Windsor Essex County Real Estate Board. Mr. Dorner has served on the OREA board since 2009 and is a former provincial director for Western Ontario. He has also served as a member or chair of several OREA committees. Most recently, he served as chair of the marketing committee.
CASSANDRA AGNEW WALKER – Director-at-Large
Active in the real estate profession for 31 years, Ms. Agnew Walker is a broker with NRS Select, Brokerage. She is a member of the Toronto Real Estate Board and is a past president of the York Region Real Estate Board, where she served on several committees. She is an OREA instructor and has served OREA on more than 25 committees. Most recently, Ms. Agnew Walker served as a chair of OREA’s government relations committee.
MIKE DOUGLAS – Director-at-Large
In this capacity, he will continue in the second year of his two-year term, representing theNortheastern Ontario area.
Active in the real estate profession for 17 years, Mr. Douglas is a broker with Aim Realty Brokerage in Barrie. He is a past-president of the Barrie & District Association of REALTORS® where he served as a member of the MLS® committee and as chair of the arbitration committee. At OREA he has served as chair of the standard forms committee and most recently as a member of the OREA communication committee.
COSTA POULOPOULOS – Director-at-Large
Active in the real estate profession for 23 years, Mr. Poulopoulos is broker of record with Realty Executives Elite Ltd. Brokerage in London, Ont. He is a member of the London St. Thomas Association of REALTORS®. A former president of LSTAR, he has served on many of the board’s committees. Mr. Poulopoulos has served as a member of several of OREA’s committees in recent years. He previously served as a provincial director (western region) for OREA.
JOHN FILIPETTI – Commercial Director
In this capacity, he will represent the association’s commercial members.
Active in the real estate profession for 31 years, Mr. Filipetti is a broker with Castle Realty (2000) in Sault Ste. Marie. He is a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Real Estate Board and has served on several committees of the board. Most recently, he has served OREA as a member of the Ontario Commercial Council.
GERRY WEIR – CREA Regional Director, Region of Ontario
Active in the real estate profession for 25 years, Mr. Weir is a broker of record with Sutton Group Preferred Realty Inc., Brokerage. He is a member and past president of the London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS®, where he chaired several committees. As well, Mr. Weir is an OREA past president and has served as a member and chair on various OREA committees. Mr. Weir has served on the OREA Board since 2001. Most recently, he served on the REBBA Review Task Force.
PAUL ETHERINGTON – Substantial Membership Director
In this capacity, he will represent the Toronto Real Estate Board.
Active in the real estate profession for 28 years, Mr. Etherington is a broker with Re/Max First Realty Ltd., Brokerage in Pickering. He is a director on the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) and has served in this capacity for nine years. Mr. Etherington has also served as a chair of several TREB committees, including the finance, education and ethics committees.
TOM LEBOUR – Provincial Director – Central Ontario
In this capacity, he will complete the second year of his two-year term representing Central Ontario.
Active in the real estate profession for 35 years, Mr. Lebour is a broker with Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd., Brokerage. He was the 2003 president of the Mississauga Real Estate Board and the 2009/2010 past-president of the Toronto Real Estate Board. Mr. Lebour has served as a substantial membership director at OREA and has served on several OREA committees. Most recently he served as chair of the OREA communication committee.
MAUREEN O’NEILL – Provincial Director – Central Ontario
In this capacity, she begins a two-year term representing the Central Ontario area.
Active in the real estate profession for 23 years, Ms. O’Neill is a broker with Bosley Real Estate Ltd., Brokerage. She is past-president of the Toronto Real Estate Board, where she served as a member or chair of several committees. Ms. O’Neill has served as a member of several OREA committees. Most recently, she chaired the OREA Real Estate College – Education committee.
PATRICIA VERGE – Provincial Director – Eastern Ontario 
In this capacity, she will represent the Eastern Ontario area for the second year of her second two-year term.
Active in the real estate profession for 30 years, Ms. Verge is a broker with Royal LePage Team Realty, Brokerage in Ottawa. She is a past-president of the Canadian Real Estate Association. Ms. Verge is a member of the Ottawa Real Estate Board, where she served as a member of various committees. She has chaired the OREA education committee and served on several other committees, and has served on the OREA board since 2009. Most recently Ms. Verge served as chair of the legal resource committee.
VALERIE MILES – Provincial Director – Northeastern Ontario
In this capacity, Ms. Miles will represent the Northeastern Ontario area for a two-year term.
Active in the real estate profession for 11 years, Ms. Miles is a salesperson with ReMax Country Classics Ltd., Brokerage in Bancroft. She is a past-president of the Bancroft and District Real Estate Board. She has also served as chair on several of the board’s committees, including finance, education/membership, and professional standards.
RICHARD LEROUX – Provincial Director – Northern Ontario
In this capacity, he will serve the second year of his two-year term, representing the Northern Ontario area.
Active in the real estate profession for 28 years, Mr. Leroux is broker of record with Realty Networks, Brokerage. He is a member and past president of the Timmins Real Estate Board. Mr. Leroux has served on several OREA committees, most recently, as chair of the standard forms committee.
RAY FERRIS – Provincial Director – Southern Ontario
In this capacity, he will represent the Southern Ontario area for a two-year term.
Active in the real estate profession for 16 years, Mr. Ferris is broker of record with Erie’s Edge Real Estate Ltd. in Port Rowan. He is a past-president of the Simcoe & District Real Estate Board, as well as chairing several of the board’s committees, including its government relations, administration and by-law committees. At OREA he has served on the social media task force and the leadership committee.
ANNA VOZZA – Provincial Director – Western Ontario
In this capacity, she will serve the second year of her two-year term representing Western Ontario.
Active in the real estate profession for 11 years, Ms. Vozza is a salesperson with Bob Pedler Real Estate Limited, Brokerage, and a member of the Windsor-Essex County Real Estate Board, where she served as past president. She served on several of the board’s committees. At OREA, Ms. Vozza has served as a member of the leadership development committee, and most recently chaired the OREA social media task force.
