REALTORS® in the 2011 Ontario Election

2011 Ontario Election is Oct 6th

As strong community leaders, Ontario REALTORS® are well positioned to run for public office. According to biographies provided by the major political parties there are five REALTORS® running to be a Member of Provincial Parliament in this 2011 Ontario election. While none of the candidates were successful in their bids to become Ontario MPPs, a number were in very close races.

Cheryl Miller, Progressive Conservative (PC) Candidate

London-Fanshawe

Cheryl Miller is an accredited Real Estate Sales Professional and co-owner of Prudential Family Realty Brokerage in London. She is a lifetime resident of London and has served as a school board trustee for 14 years. In addition, she served as city councillor for 13 years.

Amarjeet Gill, PC Candidate

Mississauaga-Brampton South

Amarjeet Gill is a real estate sales person for Home Life, Super Stars Real Estate Ltd in Toronto. Born and raised in India, he immigrated to Canada in 1998 and has lived in Brampton ever since. Amarjeet has degrees in engineering and political science. He has also earned his MBA.

Shan Thayaparan, PC Candidate

Markham-Unionville

Shan Thayaparan is a sales representative with Re/Max Vision Realty Inc. in Markham. He immigrated to Canada from India in 1986. Shan is married and has three boys Thanusan, Abeyshan and Harrison.

David Hilderley, Liberal Candidate

Oxford

David Hilderley is a sales representative with Century 21 Heritage House in Woodstock. Previously, David was a teacher for 34 years and ran two successful small businesses. David has been involved with many community organizations including the Woodstock Hospital Foundation and VON Sakura House.

Mani Singh, NDP Candidate

Brampton-Sprindale

Mani Singh is a sales representative with Re/Max West Realty Inc. in Toronto. He is an active member of the community and dedicated advocate for fairness and change. He lives in Brampton with his wife Prema and their four children.
