If you want to stay on the cutting edge of technology in real estate, come to one or more in a series of events offered this fall by the Ontario Real Estate Association. Emerge: Moving You Forward with the Tools for Tomorrow will feature topics designed to develop your skills and knowledge on emerging tools and technologies.
“It’s important to stay ahead of the curve in this business since technology is constantly changing,” says Phil Dorner, OREA president. “This series offers all of our members the chance to learn more about the latest business tools and technologies and how to put them into practice – in locations across the province.”
Six regional conferences are being scheduled between September and December 2013. All of OREA’s provincial areas will host an Emerge event, including North-eastern, Eastern, Central, Northern, Western, and Southern Ontario. Tentative dates and locations are as follows:
Tuesday, September 17 Orillia (Casino Rama)
Thursday, October 3 Ottawa (Location to be announced)
Wednesday, October 23 Toronto (Courtyard Marriott)
Thursday, November 14 North Bay (Clarion Resort Pinewood Park)
Thursday, November 21 Windsor (Caesars Windsor Hotel and Casino)
Tuesday, December 10 Kitchener-Waterloo (K-W Hotel & Conference Centre)
“With these events, we want to provide education to all members, not just leaders of boards and associations but also the grassroots members who are out there in the field,” says Dorner. “The Emerge series is about much more than just social media – the topics and speakers will touch on technology issues particular to real estate. We want to engage members and support you as you strive to enhance your skills and knowledge in a field that is fast-paced, where every day presents a new and different challenge.”
Potential topics in the Emerge series include the paperless agent, video marketing, the mobile agent, social media, and lifestyle marketing. Each event will conclude with a Young Professionals Network (YPN) reception, offering you a chance to talk about the topics covered earlier in the day and the opportunity to connect and network with other real estate colleagues.
All events are open to all members. Costs are as follows:
Early registration for OREA members (at least three weeks before event): $59
Registration for OREA members: $79
