In the movie Field of Dreams, Iowa farmer Ray hears a voice in his corn field one night that says, “If you build it, he will come.” Admittedly, this isn’t Iowa and there’s no corn field, but we (the College) have built it (alumni program) and hope you (graduates) join.
A graduate’s connection to his or her college should not end upon graduation. The connections made during that pivotal time should continue into the professional world. This is why the College created and has now launched its alumni program, open to graduates who are also members of OREA.
Alumni program members can reconnect and network with other practising REALTORS® from across Ontario through scheduled events or by viewing the profile of fellow members in the online directory. Members can enhance their knowledge and skills by viewing practical podcasts delivered by real estate and other industry professionals.
Our debut podcasts feature broker and College instructor Jean Vanderveer sharing techniques on how to handle client resistance and tips on helping clients make the right decisions, and Lee Ann Southgate explain the importance of due diligence.
Members will receive an alumni e-newsletters and fact sheets (available for download) that will help them stay current with industry news and trends. An example of a fact sheet available to members is the listing presentation checklist.
