OREA YPN

Why I joined the OREA Young Professionals Network

Just going to be honest with you folks… I feel like a fraud!  Although the name of this exciting new group at OREA is the Young Professionals Network,  I’m really not that young, and I’m really not that new to the real estate business either.

Although I am in my 13th year of selling real estate full time,  a Royal LePage Platinum Award winner since 2008, as well as the President of the Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association for this year AND (ahump…a few months shy of 40) – I felt a strong desire to be part of this group of professionals.

Why? Because I think can help.  The YPN is paving the way for the next generation of REALTORS®. This approach is a compromise — a compromise between tried and tested “old school” ways and new ideas  such as introducing social media outlets to your business and attracting more of those Generation Xs and Ys!

While Facebook, Twitter  and Linked In — just to name a few social media platforms — may not be your cup of tea, or even if they seem a little intimidating at first, getting your feet wet (with a little help if needed) may be the start of a new business source for you.

Whether you are starting fresh or trying to refresh, belonging to a group of enthusiastic and like-minded individuals can boost you to forward thinking!  It honestly can.

While I may learn some new tech-savvy things from other members that I didn’t quite grasp before (I thought Twitter was a bird!)  I can also share some of my own ideas about how I work for success with others.  It’s really a win-win situation!  I encourage everyone to get involved in the OREA YPN!  Head to facebook.com/oreaypn and sign up for our OREA YPN mailing list to be updated about all future events.
